Michiah Quick is a professional athlete, entrepreneur, and philanthropist dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through education, mentorship, sports, and community service. Born and raised in Fresno, California, Michiah’s journey of perseverance and self-discovery has shaped his mission to inspire the next generation to thrive. His story exemplifies resilience, vision, and the transformative power of opportunity.
Michiah’s athletic career took flight at Central East High School, where his dedication and talent earned him national recognition as the #4 football player in the nation and #1 in California’s Central Valley (2014). As a 5-star recruit, he committed to the University of Oklahoma, contributing to two Big 12 Conference Championships and an NCAA College Football Playoff appearance. Michiah later transferred to California State University, Fresno (Fresno State) (2017), earning a bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies (2019). His academic journey developed critical skills in social research, community strategy, and relationship building, laying the foundation for his future philanthropic endeavors.
During his five-year collegiate career, Michiah cultivated a passion for community service, volunteering with nonprofits and mentoring young student-athletes. This commitment extended to his professional football career, which took him to Europe, where he played for teams such as the Munich Cowboys, Assindia Cardinals, and Krefeld Ravens in the German Football League. While excelling on the field—breaking records, earning Offensive MVP honors, and guiding teams to successful seasons—Michiah also dedicated time to mentoring youth and coaching development programs.
After returning to the United States (2021), Michiah expanded his philanthropic efforts by donating to The We Ball Sports Foundation. His gift funded a college trip to the University of Southern California (USC) for underprivileged football players in his hometown, providing them with an experience of a lifetime. Michiah is actively involved in the Foundation's Community Engagement Office.
In 2022, Michiah founded Quicker Essentials, a human services organization headquartered in Fresno, to help at-risk youth “learn, grow, and have fun.” Quicker Essentials provides mentorship, resources, and opportunities to underserved communities, utilizing sports as a platform to engage and inspire young individuals. The organization emphasizes holistic development, bridging the gap between education, athletics, and life skills. Michiah’s annual "Back 2 School Sports Camp," now expanded to Europe, and other youth programs have impacted over 2,000 students and athletes, offering college tours, camps, and workshops designed to inspire confidence, leadership, and success.
Reflecting on his journey, Michiah shares:
"I used to be a kid with no home and no family to help me through the tough times. I had to figure things out on my own, and it wasn’t easy. But I was lucky—my friends’ families stepped in, gave me a chance, and helped me keep going. We're [Quicker Essentials] here to do the same for others. We aim to be a real force in the community, offering safety, growth, opportunities, and a sense of pride. We're committed to helping at-risk youth find their way so they can thrive in every part of life."
Whether as a professional athlete, community leader, or mentor, Michiah Quick’s legacy is defined by his unwavering dedication to uplifting others. Quicker Essentials is not just an organization—it is a movement to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation. Business owners, community leaders, and philanthropists are invited to join Michiah in this transformative journey to make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless young individuals.
